FEEDAPTOR / HOW TO

Which feed formats and encodings can I import?

Import plain product data as XML, CSV, TSV, JSON, JSONL, or gzip.

Feedaptor accepts XML product feeds, delimited CSV or TSV, JSON product objects or product arrays, and line-delimited JSON. Gzip is supported for those formats. The data must use UTF-8 encoding. XML must contain item or entry elements; a web page that displays a feed is not necessarily the feed itself.

Keep the file structurally valid before importing. Delimited files need named columns, a consistent number of values per row, and correct quoting around commas or line breaks inside values. XML with DTD or entity declarations is rejected. A damaged gzip file or an empty response cannot be converted. Both compressed input and expanded content must remain within the size limit.

What to do

  1. Export product data using a supported format and UTF-8 encoding.
  2. For CSV or TSV, retain a single header row and quote embedded delimiters correctly.
  3. For XML, use a plain feed with item or entry records.
  4. Check the file and expanded gzip size before importing.
